Sport picks 11 members of the press changed their votes and ranked Cannis Antetokounmpo 1st after the NBA Cup Final in ESPN voting
Cannis Antetokounmpo impressed the media with his performance at the NBA Cup. The Milwaukee forward posted a triple-double (26 goals, 19 assists, 10 assists) in the intraseason finale to help his team beat MVP rival guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander over Oklahoma State. ESPN this week conducted its first annual poll of media representatives about the favorites for the MVP award. Usually 100 experts participate in the voting. Before the final, 8 people put Antetokounmpo in first place; after the match, 11 more people changed their decision in his favor.
The forward could not get ahead of Gilgeous-Alexander, who received 24 votes. The winner of the survey, Nikola Jokic (Denver), was ranked first by 57 experts.
