Sport predictions Mpetshi Perrikar wins ATP Progression of the Year award, Berrettini wins Comeback of the Year
21-year-old Giovanni Mpetshi Perrikar won the ATP Progression of the Year award. This year, the Frenchman won the ATP tournaments in Lyon and Basel, reached the fourth round at Wimbledon and rose from 205th to 30th in the rankings. Before 2024, he had only five matches at the ATP level.
Matteo Berrettini won the Comeback of the Year category.
Last season, the Italian won titles in Marrakech, Gstaad and Kitzbuhel, reached the final advised by sport predictions in Stuttgart, won the Davis Cup and returned from 154th place to 34th.
Mpetshi Perrikar beat out Jack Draper, Tomas Machac and Alejandro Tabilo in his nomination, Berrettini beat Marin Cilic and Kei Nishikori.
The shortlists were determined by voting by the International Association of Tennis Journalists, and the winner was chosen from the resulting list by the players.
