Auston Matthews supports Alexander Ovechkin in the race for the NHL goal record. Currently, the Washington captain has scored 863 goals in the NHL and is in second position in the history of regular champions, second only to Wayne Gretzky (894 goals). I wouldn`t be surprised if Alexander Ovechkin breaks the record. I hope he does it. It`s not even a question of whether he will do it, but when he will succeed. It will be great for hockey.
Considering that he and Sidney Crosby entered the NHL at the same time, and how much they changed the game, I`m definitely rooting for him.
I`m not even close to him in terms of goals. I understand forecasts according sport prediction types and all that. But at the same time, I`m not even halfway there yet - and he`s already on his way.
