Sport picks The physical training coach left Tsitsipas` team: I am dissatisfied with Stefanos` attitude to work
Fitness coach Christos Fiotakis has left Stefanos Tsitsipas` team. They collaborated on and off for several years. During the 2024 preseason, they began working full-time.
The results analyzed by sport livescores and goals that I set for myself as a coach were not achieved. However, we helped Stefanos recover, get healthy and perform at a high level after his injury. But there is something that does not depend on me. The atmosphere in the team does not suit me, and, unfortunately, we have different priorities.
However, I wish him all the best and may he always be healthy. Thank you for this experience with the team, I think I gave them a lot, but I also learned a lot myself during seven intense months on tour with such a high level athlete. I hope one day he will understand that everything I told him is correct and rise to the first place in the rankings.
I was really looking forward to the Olympics in Paris because I thought we could win gold. It was not possible to do this in Tokyo due to bad luck and strange conditions. But, as I said, we have different priorities, and I am dissatisfied with Stefanos` work ethic. I don`t think he`s focused on tennis right now, moving up the rankings or winning Grand Slams.
So I can`t travel for seven months straight with only 25 days at home when my goals aren`t that high and I`m traveling just for the sake of traveling. I have enough work and home, and I prefer to distribute energy among other people so that they are in shape and achieve what they want without nerves.
